Unveiling the Bell

We are all familiar with Saul Bass’s work: movie credits, logo design, all around awesome. But for the first time, AT&T has released the film Bass produced to present his logo redesign for their 1970’s “bell.” As far as graphic design history goes, this was the largest rebrand in the US, prompting a complete overhaul of 135,000 Bell system vehicles, 22,000 buildings, 1,250,000 phone booths, and 170,000,000 telephone directories.
