Caught in a Bad Project

Lab students are overworked and underpaid, everyone knows that. So each year, to help alleviate all the accumulated stress from badly labeled vials and translating text on white papers from an obscure dialect, Baylor College of Medicine’s Molecular and Human Genetics labs create video skits for their annual retreat. This year’s “Bad Project”, a Lady Gaga parody of “Bad Romance” brought the house down. Hui Zheng Lab, You Rock!

Tetris as Art

You really can’t call yourself a nerd/geek/dork (possibly not even a human?) unless you’ve played Tetris. Created on June 6, 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov, Tetris has become one of the most well-known and reinvented games ever. Some variation of Tetris has been ported to nearly every gaming system and handheld device since the 1980s. All seven puzzle shapes in Tetris are composed of four segments, and each unique shape is assigned its own color. These two features lend themselves exceptionally well to use in a wide variety of stylin’ arts and crafts.

These days when you walk into an Office Depot the calculator section is at best slim pickings.
