Double Rainbow All The Way

Over 5 million people have been enamored by the Double Rainbow video, even prompting a catchy auto-tune song and a CNN web interview with the creator. Although we’re not quite as ecstatic about spotting rainbows, we have to admit that they are pretty badass examples of the spectrum of light. Math Finds Photography

F of X is equal to what now? Most of us can’t remember basic trigonometry — not to mention WTF is a hyperbolic parabloid — but Rochester Institute of Technology student Nikki Graziano has found a way for all of us to think about math on a daily basis. Through carefully thought-out photo compositions, Graziano mixes the beauty of mathematical curves into everyday objects like clouds, shubbery, and even shadows. Although she doesn’t always aim to seek out these calculations with each photograph, they appear nonetheless.
