If sports got reported like science…

If you’re like us, you’re more likely to spend time playing video games about sports than actually doing or watching the real thing. So WTF are the commentators talking about when they start throwing in all sorts of sports terminology? It’s gotten to the point that there are glossaries of terms for different sports just so the average viewer can follow what’s happening.

Since the World Cup is in full swing, Mike Knell took this opportunity to explain how the offside rule would be reported if it was like science:

If Pluto were a person, I’d punch him in the throat.

I have never felt bad about Pluto’s demotion to a dwarf-planet. In fact, when the International Union of Astronomers began to redefine what a planet actually was, I was one of the few people I knew that was hoping for the little bastard to get downgraded. It was, is, and always has been a crappy ball of ice that nobody should have ever cared about in the first place.
