How AT&T’s New Data Plans Will Screw You
AT&T’s new data plans rolled out on June 7th, much to the disappointed public who was waiting to switch carriers until the new iPhone came on the market. But what’s the breakdown for all of this information? What the hell are you signing up for? This infograph will help you understand, even with the watchful eye of the Death Star looming overhead.

Is this a violation of Net Neutrality kinda thing? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_neutrality)
Does it not count because it’s mobile?
It was rolled out on the 7th of June, not July…
HI DIGG!!!
Thanks Mitch, normally we would blame the time machine… :P
Hey, I’m not happy with this change but seriously where did you get these usage statistics? I don’t even get 10,000 emails a month at work! Then you added another 1500 with attachments!?!?! I’d take out at least 500MB from your email portion of the calculation. As for myself I already tend to latch on to a WiFi connection when ever I can just because I don’t want to deal with 3G network issues. That said my usage is averaging about 225MB per month according to AT&T so FOR ME this is a better deal. However if this was a 4G phone with tethering THEN I might be marching right along side you. But in my experience, considering the current state of the 3G network, it’s just not a problem for me and won’t stop me from moving to the new iPhone.
Honestly it feels like AT&T used some kind of magic gnome math to come up with those numbers. Most people will likely stay under their limit, but for people who are splitting their data plan with an iPhone and iPad, their monthly usage will get sucked up like a Las Vegas tourist inhaling a buffet.
The data, although likely skewed, comes from AT&T.

You make a solid point as most users likely stay under the plan’s respective caps. We just hope that with the new plans in effect they work on their infrastructure so we can all actually use the new iPhone without all the current issues… depending on what city you are in.
